It might please you to know that in my recent experimentation with
Crunchbang and LXLE on my old Thinkpad, I've gone with your plan. Both
have their own user accounts - one lproven, one liam - in the same
shared /home filesystem. But all the contents of the folders in both
home directories are symlinked in from the big FAT32 drive that is
shared with Windows XP.
