problem with install from usb

Attempting to install from a usb on a Samsung netbook NC110.  Done it
before with 12.04.  Now when I attempt to check for errors I get
sbin/modprobe -bv pci: long number.  It then boots up but hangs right after
successfully choosing the keyboard.  It seems to run fine once the usb
boots.  Md5sum is correct.
