I've never really had one or seen one in real life, but there are plenty 
of posts and threads from people who have. My impression is that if you 
are at all a 'normal' sort of user on fairly normal hardware you'll be 
fine, though it's probably worth making sure you've a backup first 
anyway. Commonish causes of problems seem to be internal modems, 
non-free graphics drivers and especially old hardware.

Yeah, that's the general gist. Non-canonical repositories are 
commented-out of sources.list for the upgrade, but you can easily 
re-enable them afterwards (though you might need to point them at the 
saucy version).
