Strange file occurance

I occasionally use the 'search for files' selection in the applications 
menu under 'accessories'.  Today I selected it in the menu and got an 
error "gnome-search-tool not found".  I used a different search program 
(catfish) and it found lots of gnome-search * but not gnome-search-tool.
So then I went to the 'main menu' in the settings menu to see the 
properties of the selection, and I could not find the selection in the 
menu under accessories (even though it is still on my menu!).

btw, I am running xubuntu 13.04, but I think I am running xfce also (my 
home and work are both supposed to be xubuntu but one has some different 
desktop properties from the other).
