I'm just going by his saying that he has a virus because he clicked a 
video and, etc, etc and the computer is "broken" but that a local 
retailer offered to back-up the data.  He's now getting a BSOD 
after...it's a long story.  This is just days after he paid McAfee $$ to 
update the machine.  I dunno, maybe there's no virus.  Maybe it's a 
failed update that caused the BSOD.  Maybe his hard drive failed, or is 
near failure.  I have no idea.

In any event, the data should get backed up, if possible.
