Ubuntu 12.04.2 64 bit server edition OS on Dell Optiplex 390 doesn't restart/reboot

Hi

I have hit a bug
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1053928. I am running
ubuntu 12.04.2 64 bit server edition OS on Dell Optiplex 390 box. The box
does not restart when i issue a command /sbin/shutdown -r now and just
freezes, to overcome this problem i need to power off and then power on
button located on the front panel. Any suggestions please?
