Thank you for this most useful command!
The output (copied by hand from a terminal on my phone screen):
*-cdrom
description: DVD reader
product: DW-224E-B
vendor: TEAC
physical id: 0.0.0
bus info: scsi at 0:0.0.0
logical name: /dev/cdrom
logical name: /dev/cdrw
logical name: /dev/dvd
logical name: /dev/sr0
version: C.6F
capabilities: removable audio cd-r cd-rw dvd
configuration: ansiversion=5 status=nodisc
...and then further down...
*-cdrom
description: SCSI CD-ROM
product: Virtual DVD-ROM
vendor: HP
physical id: 0.0.0
bus info: scsi at 4:0.0.0
logical name: /dev/cdrom1
logical name: /dev/sr1
serial: [
capabilities: removable audio
configuration: status=nodisc
(And to answer the 64bits question: the cpus have "width: 64 bits" )
So it should be able to read DVDs, but I guess the lense is indeed
dirty.
Also tweaking the USB settings seems to be getting us nowhere...
Currently I'm out of ideas, so I think i'll have to go to the remote
site and pick the thing up...
Thanks for your help everyone!
