"does not boot from the DVD" and "does not boot from USB" means to me
that the installer's first screen isn't even reached because the
hardware's not being recognized. (I therefore don't understand why
detecting the RAID controller or using the "Alternate DVD" is an
issue.)

Is USB enabled in the RBSU? Is "Legacy USB" disabled?
