Do certain systems hate Linux?

Hello,

Would you mind asking your friend to try and make some speed tests, both on
windows and on Linux? Choose one or two websites for the job and compare
the tests for both OSs.
If results are different you may want to check for some specific drivers
for the laptop, non-free firmware (especially if your friend experiences
the problems when using WiFi).
