Starting System Settings Components from the Command Line

Hello,
I sometimes connect over SSH to a remote Ubuntu box and I need to show
someone seated at the remote machine something or open a specific
application for him/her.
I'd like to add/remove items from the System Setting menu (under the Cog) -
Software Sources, for instance, and I'd like to be able to start the
Details app under the System category from the CLI to show the remote user
his CPU and RAM info.
Can someone tell me what's the command to run and how to manipulate the
Settings window contents?
Thanks!
