My only experience is with APC units and apcupsd. apcupsd.conf is _very_
well documented. Suitably configured, it Just Works. Last time it kicked
in I'd just arrived at a ski resort about 1000 miles from home. No
worries.
Also configure the BIOS on the server to auto boot when power is
applied.
