I don't think it is a troll. It is a person expecting Ubuntu to be user
friendly, which -in this case- apparently it is not.
The OP asked how for an easy way to get to the wifi hotspot login page.
Instead people are giving him a crash course in DNS debugging. This is
too far fetched for the OP, or in any case it is not the easy method he
was hoping for.
Of course it is understandable that people want him to try things,
because you cannot help a person based on statements like "my internet
is not working". You need to find out what the exact cause is.
Still, I can't help but wonder if there isn't a single soul on this
list who regularly visits the local coffeebar and can tell OP how to
easily get to the login page of their wifi hotspot?
