From what I have seen in this thread, nobody disputes that. But the
problem exists, so you will have to do it anyway to find out where the
problem comes from. Then probably someone can tell you what to do to get
to that login page.

So you expect that every starbucks hotspot worldwide is configured the
same? I can't speak for Karl, but I would have to spend about 5 €uros
plus about 1/2 hour of my time to even get to the next starbucks. Are
you willing to pay for that, even if it may not solve your problem (in
case their hotspot works differently)?
