People are confusing EFI boot with Secure boot. You should be able to
disable secure boot with no ill effects to Windows. However, if you
disable EFI boot (or change EFI Boot to Legacy, or CMS, or however else
your particular BIOS wants to call it.) then windows will have to be
repaired somehow.
Note that I've had at least one BIOS that would not allow disabling
Secure Boot while EFI boot was enabled, and needed to be changed to
Legacy Boot. (I've later since hints that it might have been possible
to disable Secure boot if I first created a BIOS password. I can not
confirm this.)
