That does make much more sense now and does produce the result I am
looking for. I hadn't tried that as I assumed that it would in fact
only be a * link * --- not the complete chapter. Judging by the file
size of both file, it does in fact save the complete chapter.

Yes that is what I'm looking for and is what use to happen with *save
file as*. I did talk to the web master of Awesome Dude and he has
changed nothing on his end.

Each story has a directory so ever time I save a file I need to change
to the proper directory. As for permissions, I have never had a need to
change them -- they are always read/write -- at least as they relate to
stories.
Yes, 21.0a1 is set as the default browser
I did download ScreenGrab the other day but it saves as a jpg or pnp
file. I also use LibreOffice but do a lot of reformating of the html
file to suit my viewing requirements. So the image files aren't helpful.
As I mentioned the other day, I downloaded reKong, a lite browser, which
does work properly with the chapter files. And now that I have looked
at the *save link as* and seems as though that will work also. I think
it's time to pull the plug on this thread -- maybe in time this will
work itself out. I will continue using the 21.0a1 too...kind of like
having the "latest/greatest" version of Firefox.
I also want to thank you for your kind assistance.
