Printer Question

I have a Brother DCP-7020, and it has worked well (printing and scanning)
for years now. The printer works without any Brother drivers (supported
directly by CUPS) but my scanner requires the Brother brscan2 software.
Unfortunately the software wasn't packaged up to Debian / Ubuntu standards,
so I had to ignore a warning and edit a file or two to get it working
properly. The exact edits are spelled out on the Brother web site, but I
had to click a few links before I found them. I also have to go through the
installation process every time I upgrade Ubuntu.
