Granted, it might have been better if I had written my reply a bit 
differently. :)

OK, then the message with the workaround was posted after you looked at 
the bug report. I didn't think of that - sorry.

AFAIK, this list is not monitored by Canonical (at least not 
officially). I think it wouldn't be helpful for anybody if there was an 
announcement on this list for every bug fix.

And if you expect feedback regarding a specific bug, it would probably 
be useful to subscribe to the bug report. Then you get all messages 
posted to the bug report including status updates by email.
