Johnny: I doubt that a mailing list for Ubuntu support is the best place
to ask a development question about using gtkdialog.

The lack of response is likely more to do with addressing the wrong
audience, than whether or not the tool is appropriate for your uses.
Before giving up on it, maybe find an appropriate support forum?
