See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases for support dates.  10.04 desktop
will go out of support in a few weeks.

My advise is to stick with 12.04 for a couple of months by which time
you will get used to it.  Many who do that and then try going back to
an old version realise that in fact Unity is good.
