Possibly.

I read both this and the Kubuntu list. All I can say is that the volume 
of traffic has dropped dramatically in recent months.

I also noticed that both here and in the Kubuntu list there are people 
having trouble when wanting to use the latest version of the kernel and 
the latest nVidia driver to go with it. When I read their requests for 
help I kinda feel depressed :-( .

Only this morning I had the kernel upgraded to 3.8.7-1 and I had to 
compile the nVidia driver (310.44) for it. Took me all of 3 minutes or 
so to compile the nVidia driver and be up and running again. But, as you 
can see from my signature line, I am using a different Linux distro 
where all the files necessary to do all this are readily available and 
installable.

But Linux does provide freedom of choice and everyone has to choose what 
they want which suits their needs.
