After I burnt the DVD I booted it up and, as always, selected the option
to check the media for any errors. This was done and there were no
errors - and there was the option to *Continue* which is what I chose to
do to install 12.04.2.

However, the whole sheebang was frozen. No keyboard key, no mouse
gesture was able to wake Sleeping Beauty. As I wasn't prepared to do
what Prince Charming did in the original story to wake Sleeping Beauty I
pressed instead the Big Red Button.

And when I rebooted and chose the Installation option I *think* that it
got to the Location part (after the keyboard type part) - but I really
don't remember, sorry - when again the whole thing went into a petrified
state.

I am unable to give any more info, like eg dmesg log entries, because
there is nothing more than this that I can provide - and I don't have
the facilities to capture the whole process to a video and post it on
YouTube - which is what some people here seem to require before they
accept what I have written. If it isn't on YouTube, or Faux News, then,
to them, it ain't true :-) .
