Hi Gary,
what issue are you trying to solve exactly, what is the graphic circuit
in your laptop ? (NVidia, AMD, Intel ?) Did you try different drivers
for this graphic adapter ?
In 10.04 you can easily try a newer kernel (3.5 from 12.10) by
installing the package "linux-generic-lts-quantal" . But it may not
solve your graphic problem if you need a proprietary driver for you
graphic adapter to work properly.
