Time Based Account Security

When we deploy new servers in our network (Ubuntu and Debian), after adding user accounts (sysadmins) and all the necessary precautions we issue the chage -d0 command which works pretty good. But sometimes it takes some time before one of the admins actually logs in to change his/her password.
I`d like to have the option to automatically disable the account after, let`s say, one week to avoid abuse the first time.
After the user has changed his password this short inactivation option should be reset to the normal password aging time of 3 months.
What is the best way to do this?
Cheers,
Dave
