Many thanks for this explanation and information. As I maintain, 
everyday is a new learning experience and from what you wrote I have 
learnt quite a bit. Pity I didn't know about this years ago (or perhaps 
just as well that I didn't! :-) ) or I may have gone into metalworking 
rather than carpentry :-) .
