12.04 upgrade problem

'Upgrade' is the question - what exactly do you mean. It sound as if you've 
done the 'upgrade' from the update manager?

Loads of folk seem to have problems with that... not something i've ever 
attempted to do in while i've used *buntu since 6.10. I don't think it's 
recommended.

I have always done the CD install route and i suggets that you do the same. If 
you want a /home partition then do that it is quite easy to follow on the 
install sequence.
