how to control playback speed in kino?

I've captured some video as DV in kino - all worked fine. However, when
I'm in edit mode and click "play" it plays way too fast, and with no
sound. If I export the video, the exported video is fine, It's pretty
hard to edit when you can't hear sound and it's all going past at ten
times normal speed!

What am I missing - how can I slow the edit playback down?
