Wifi problems: is there a solution ?

Hello,
I have a problem with my Dell Inspiron 1750 running Ubuntu 11.10. When on
battery, wifi is unusable. I just replaced the battery, but the problem
persists.
I have found a lot of questions and answers in this forum about this
problem, but I could not find a solution.
Has someone found a solution to this problem?
