kernel 3.0.0-13-generic seems to be last one that works on my ASUS laptop

grrrr ... and of course, it isn't so i'll humiliate myself and ask
how to upgrade it from ubuntu. to detect the current version, i ran:
$ sudo dmidecode -s bios-version
G74Sx.201
$
and a quick google shows there is a version 203 already:

so while i'm googling (i can't remember the last time i had to
upgrade bios), a pointer to a web page with instructions would be
awesome.
