Classic GNOME is no longer available. It was used in Natty as a backup
for Unity 3d if you did not have the resources to run it, but it was
taken out in Oneiric, and replaced by Unity 2d. Installing the package
GNOME Shell (sudo apt-get install gnome-shell) will install both GNOME 3
Shell and GNOME 3 Classic, allowing you to choose between them (and of
course, Unity also) at login. Thanks!
