Can't log into Ubuntu

I'm going to see if I can first install with a live CD. I've tried it 
several times but for some reason my system is not rebooting from the 
CD. I have tried several times but have so far failed. I just installed 
this from Wubi. I'm also backing it up onto my 'passport'. Let's see if 
I can later restore some work from it. Don't know.
