If you don't mind my saying so, since no moderators have, I would like to see these types of posts stopped. Can't we all treat each other equally? And top posting is okay, compared to what has been going on on the list. It is quite annoying to see these tearing-down emails land in my inbox. I want to see emails that build people up.
Regarding the actual thread, and looking back at previous posts, it appears this is a software-related issue, rather than hardware-related. I hope you have found an answer as to why you were unable to log into Ubuntu. Software-related issues like this may be a bug in Ubuntu, and I would think that if this is a bug, it would most-likely be a critical one. If I were you, I would look for bugs like your issues on Launchpad. Thanks!
