Ok, I'm now seeing UDMA33 in dmesg for the dvd drive. Still same errors, 
still same same ole. Yes, I did follow the directions from the Ubuntu 
how-to for reading DVD's. All the packages installed, that are 
mentioned. I have updated the install fully. Still no joy. There is a 
screw loose in my setup some wheres... :( Ric
