problem printing on Canon mp250

This is a 32 bit machine.

Followed instructions above.  Printed out test page, all was fine.
Opened a photo and tried to print.  No luck.  I changed the color
option to color (RGB I think) from grayscale and it printed.  So I
think the problem is coming from the greyscale option- I had chosen it
back when I started having the problem.  Any way to fix this?
