How do you watch DVDs?

I got overwhelmed with other things, some medical/dental.  I did not
pursue this very far.  At the moment, I'm booting Vista on a laptop
and using Power DVD 9 on a large external monitor.  I know: boo hiss
groan.  Sorry.
