Infrequently used printers

In reply to my original posting:-

After a week of cooler, wet weather here in the UK, I logged in to the
server, ran escputil again with the nozzle check option, and it looks
almost perfect today. IMHO it's definitely got something to do with the
weather conditions and humidity.

I just printed a letter I prepared using Latex, onto Conqueror paper,
and it looks every bit as good as laser output.

Conclusion:-
If you live in a warm, dry climate, go for a laser printer every time.
If you live in a cooler, more damp climate, an inkjet is OK especially
if a photo quality unit is required, and you can't get to a shop to have
photos properly printed onto photo paper.
