I have disabled all plugins and extensions. I have no themes. With all
plugins and extension disabled, the issue does not return. With even
one extension enabled, the issue returns. It does not matter which
one! so I cannot narrow the issue down to a single extension.

I can reproduce with JavaScript-light pages. JS was actually my first
inclination as I use Flashblock. (when Flash was still enabled, before
troubleshooting)

Chrome and Opera do not support two critical Firefox features that I
need. I've been wanting to move for months.
