SOLVED!!!

Amazingly, the live-iso booted up after all, though after a while of spewing
nasty error massages, and on different Computer. I got a Dell Inspiron from
a friend, whose bios supports hdd password. Though my password seemed two
characters too long to the BIOS. (Wonder why it puts a cap on hdd password,
when the hdd itself allows!!!) I just booted it off the live-iso(my first
method actually) and waited till the error messages stopped. It booted fine,
and then through *hdparm* unlocked and disabled the hdd password. Problem
SOLVED!!!
Thanks all.....
