Mp3 player not showing up in Nautilus

Hello,

Normally when I connect my mp3 player to the usb 
cable on my computer, nautilus will pop up with a 
display of the files on it. Now for some reason it 
will not, and does not after a fresh boot of 
Ubuntu either.

Can someone tell me how to manually connect the 
mp3 player?

Can someone tell me how to restore the system's 
auto discovery and mounting of my mp3 player?
