Thanks for the enlightenment, but I rest my case. From personal
experience I know that when bugs are fixed anywhere other that with the
developer of a product the chances of code clashing are quite high,
introducing undesirable side effects. What's the problem with feeding
bug fixes upstream and ensuring only one coding environment? I
understand the need to "compile" for different architectures that are
not supported upstream, it's just the source integrity that bothers me.
Please take that last question as rhetorical if you think this thread
has lived for long enough. :-)
