issues with perl module

Hi folks,

I realize that this is more a perl issue than an Ubuntu issue, so my 
advance apologies for the possibly OT post.

The system:

$ uname -a
Linux cprtools-D01 2.6.35-28-generic-pae #49-Ubuntu SMP Tue Mar 1 
14:58:06 UTC 2011 i686 GNU/Linux

Running a fresh, updated install of 10.10.

I'm trying to enable a perl module (Authen::Libwrap).  When I enter the 
perl shell and try to install it, the installation fails.

I've looked and looked for the answer, but seem to be hitting a brick wall.

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
