The F2400 series is supported via the HPLIP package, see
http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/models/deskjet_aio/deskjet_f2400_series.html
but not for fax, only printing and scanning.
HPLIP can be installed via Ubuntu Software Centre. Then if the printer
is not recognised automatically, install it using System >
Administration > Printing.
Hope that helps.
