Best Alternative Operating System To Ubuntu?

Have yout tried OpenSuse.

I'll try it this holidays. I've been OpenSuse user for years but I
decided to use Ubuntu because of some problems with 64 bits processors
on OpenSuse. I want to check if the problems have been solved.
