Ubuntu netbook edition or desktop edition ?

Mine doesn't autohide, but this could be to do with previous fiddling
with config on my part I suppose. Not that I've found a way to undo it,
though...

You're not being cut down at all! Certainly I didn't mean any malice, 
I don't think Cybe *knew* the answer - I think he is (as I am)
interested in knowing if there is scope for more vertical space in
Unity. I've long been confused by the tendency for shorter, wider
monitors on laptops and PCs.

It's a discussion, not an argument :)
