cannot use btrfs subvolumes with alternate installer

I wasn't even half-hopeful that you'd find something useful in the
expert install (because the partitioning step's also looked/felt the
same in the regular and expert installs) but there was a slim
possibility that the expert install might have some extra btrfs
goodies...

Did you originally set up the subvolumes directly through the
installer? I've tried, unsuccessfully, to replicate your
"/dev/sda2/root" and "/dev/sda2/home".
