@Gary: You may be able to determine using:

$ sudo iwlist scan

Look for 'ESSID:"Piggott"' and it sould tell you the encryption version etc.

Added note: Network Manager allows for the following:
- None
- WEP 401/128-bit Key (Hex or ASCII)
- WEP 128-bit Passphrase
- LEAP
- Dynamic WEP (802.1x)
- WPA & WPA2 Personal
- WPA & WPA2 Enterprise

If it's a non-hex/ascii then perhaps 'WEP 128-bit Passphrase' is what
you need to select in Network Manager|Wireless|<ESSID>|Wireless
Security. The gateway response to pings... for $20 I'll hack into it for
you :-) Just joking.
