wireless connection issue

Well, I just played a bit with wicd. The settings for a specific 
connection have a selection menue for the encryption. There are several 
different options for WEP:
- WEP (Passphrase)
- WEP (Hex [0-9/A-F])
- WEP (Shared/Restricted)
- LEAP with WEP
- TTLS with WEP

Probably wicd guesses which is the appropriate option and suggests to 
use it but it could be the wrong one. Maybe you could try one of the 
other options.
