Internet working intermittently - IP settings messed up ?

Do you know whether it is the connection from the PC to your modem or
router that appears to be failing or the connection from the modem to
the internet?  If there are leds on the modem that may tell you
something.  If you have an ADSL connection there are probably two leds
of importance, possibly labelled DSL and Internet, which should both
be on.  Do either of them go off when you have the problem?

When it fails do you get a popup message on the PC saying that it has
lost connection?  If so, exactly what does it say?

Are you wired to the modem/router or are you using wireless?
