Nvidia support for Linux has always been top notch... ATI just don't
work well. Want to watch video on your Linux PC? Hope you don't mind
tearing if your using the Proprietary driver. Using the Open source
driver? Better make sure you vet all those 3d screen savers, some will
freeze your system.. (those are the current problems. It's been a long
list over the years).. If you want to support open source, and aren't
looking for high end graphic performance, then by all means, use ATI.
OTOH, if you want more than rudimentary video, Nvidia is the only game
in town.
