Does ubuntu has intel 1G/bits wire Ethernet driver?

That's weird... my experience is exactly the opposite... three systems
running 10.10 (and previously 10.04 LTS) and all had both installed...

Wonder then, if ethtool is being pulled in with something else I
install (though I can't imagine what, because I don't install any
extra network related packages beyond what is in the base Ubuntu
install...

heh...  maybe there's entropy built into the installer... :D
