Beagle is pretty much dead:

I recommend trying recoll instead:

as you will see, recoll is activly worked on:

Only one reported open bug on launchpad:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/recoll
and that is pretty recent + provides a workaround (I suspect the real
issue is xapian misbehaving as usual).

recoll-backports has builds for 1.15 if you'd like to experiment:
